The Cleveland Browns have called their final preseason game, versus the Los Angeles Rams, a “dress rehearsal” for the regular season. We will see starting QB Joe Flacco on the field for the first time in a Browns uniform since the playoff game in 2023, but not everyone expected to make Cleveland’s initial 53-man roster will be on the field.
The Rams didn’t even have QB Matthew Stafford travel to Ohio, as their star quarterback just recently returned to the practice field due to limitations from a back injury.
The Browns announced that 12 players are not expected to play this afternoon, most of whom have been dealing with injuries:
Dealing with injuries
- CB Greg Newsome II
- QB Deshaun Watson
- QB Kenny Pickett
- WR David Bell
- WR Cedric Tillman
- CB Denzel Ward
- LB Mohamoud Diabate
- DT Mike Hall Jr.
- LB Winston Reid
- T Cornelius Lucas
Veteran stars
- G Joel Bitonio
- DE Myles Garrett
Given the “dress rehearsal” terminology, it is interesting to see just two veterans missing the game despite no reported injury concerns.
