Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about Mizzou Baseball
Heading into an important offseason for Kerrick Jackson, the Mizzou Baseball program is set to lose some key contributors.
The transfer portal in college baseball officially opened on Monday, and multiple Tigers have entered the portal. Two big names on this season’s team include Blaize Ward and Kaden Peer.
Ward was a promising freshman — as he was named SEC Co-Freshman of the Week twice this season and ranked second on the team with a .296 batting average. Peer spent three seasons with the Tigers and hit a grand slam in Mizzou’s SEC Tournament first round victory vs Ole Miss.
Plenty of other names entered the transfer portal on Monday as well. Henry Chappell and Sophie Silvers have the latest updates.
Jackson will certainly have his work cut out for him this offseason as the coaching staff looks to re-work the roster. On a positive note, the fan interest still seems to be there with attendance increases.

The 2027 commit rounded out a nice trip to the Elite 11 finals this weekend, starting the final day as a Top 5 performer according to the official evaluators.
Good stuff from incoming QB Braylen Warren.
Two standout offensive contributors, Blaize Ward and Kaden Peer, will leave significant voids. Ward won SEC Co-Freshman of the Week two times and ranked second in batting average on the team, hitting .296.
Tough to see both these players hit the portal. There will be big holes to fill on this roster.
Per 247Sports, Rhymes is ranked as a top five player in the state of Missouri and 30th nationally among the linebacker position. He has gathered plenty of power conference offers and recently visited kansas on May 1st and was scheduled to visit Nebraska and Kansas State.
Always good to land in-state commits from regional rivals. Welcome to Mizzou, Kobe Rhymes!
