On her latest Making Monsters podcast, Taylor Doll previewed this Sunday’s Chicago Bears vs Las Vegas Raiders game with a bit of help from some friends. She grabbed our very own Bryan Orenchuk, also a co-host
of Bears Over Beers, to get into the latest about the Bears and how they can make it two in a row.
She also talked with Q Myers, who does a fantastic job covering the Raiders for LV Sports Network, ESPN Las Vegas, Fox Sports Las Vegas, and Raider Nation Radio. The Raiders’ top draft pick, running back Ashton Jeanty, hasn’t been able to get going in their three games, and Taylor asked Q if that’s a Jeanty problem or an O-line issue.
“Yeah, I would say it’s the offensive line’s issue, right?” Q said, “I mean, now Ashton Jeanty hasn’t been perfect. There’s been moments where he’s had some holes and he hasn’t hit them. He hasn’t been as patient as he needs to be in certain moments. He’s slipped and fell in week one against the Patriots. I thought he could have had a big run there, but there’s been moments where he hasn’t been perfect. I don’t want to act like he’s just the greatest thing and the offensive line has failed him. But ultimately, when you have 145 yards after contact and you only have 144 total yards on the season, it kind of tells you all you need to know.”
Considering the Bears’ defense has allowed 5.5 yards per rushing attempt on the season, something has got to give.
