The Stanford Cardinal Women’s Soccer program continues to remain one of the strongest pipelines into the NWSL and the latest signing is midfielder Shae Harvey. The captain is heading to the Portland Thorns on a three-year contract through the 2028 season.
After leading the team to three consecutive Women’s College Cup appearances (2023-2025) and the 2025 ACC Championship and ACC Tournament Championship titles, Harvey is headed to professional soccer.
“Shae brings leadership, composure, and a winning
mentality that stood out to us immediately,” said General Manager Jeff Agoos. “As a captain at Stanford, she led by example and by voice, and that translates on the field. She has the physical profile and soccer intelligence to influence the game in every phase and in every area of the pitch.”
Internationaly, Harvey has represented the USYNT at multiple levels with appearances in the 2023 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship and the 2022 Concacaf Women’s U-17 Championship.
The midfielder now joins a world class group that includes: Sam Coffey, Jessie Fleming, Olivia Moultrie, and Deyna Castellanos.
