Natalia Silva vs. Wang Cong squared off in a Flyweight bout earlier tonight (Sat., Oct. 3, 2026) inside Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah for UFC 332. After five competitive rounds, Silva was named the victor.
Silva opened the fight with kicks, showing off her speed. Cong landed a right, tried to step into another exchange, and ate a flurry in the process. Silva’s speed advantage was apparent and allowed her to find the mark first. Silva caught a kick and briefly gained top position. The fight moved
into the clinch, where Silva controlled her opponent for a time. Silva landed some nice shots on the break, cementing a strong opening round for the favorite.
Cong found her range a little more in the opening of the second, timing some low kicks and a nice right hand. Cong chopped a few more low kicks, and then Silva stunned her with a high that fired up to the target with shocking speed. Silva pushed into the clinch and scored a takedown into half guard. Cong scrambled back to her feet, eating a few shots in the process.
After 10 minutes of combat, Wang Cong was in the hole.
The third round opened with several frantic exchanges. Silva knocked Cong back with a powerful side kick. Cong found the mark with a couple punches as she pressed forward. Cong was a bit more persistent with her pressure, getting Silva to the fence on a few occasions. Cong flurried in the final 10 seconds, closing out the most competitive round of the fight yet.
Silva stuck-and-moved early on. Cong pushed forward, landing a low kick and right hand at the break of an exchange. A couple more low kicks and a long right hand connected for the Chinese fighter, who pushed into the clinch briefly. Cong was started to pick up some momentum midway through the round and landed another long 1-2. Silva landed a jumping spin kick in the open then scored a momentary takedown off a spinning elbow attempt from Cong. Silva landed a second spin kick along the fence afterward. Cong finished the round strong with a left hook and another heavy low kick.
It was undoubtedly Cong’s best round of the fight so far.
Silva landed a quick combination to start the fifth. Cong chopped the leg and punched forward, landing in the clinch. Silva broke the clinch with an elbow, and the two women were trading once more. Cong landed a couple right hands while pressing forward. Silva was on the back foot, and she was starting to feel the effect of Cong’s power punches. In the closing 30 seconds, Cong chased after her opponent, but she couldn’t force the knockout to materialize.
After five rounds, all three judges scored the decision for Natalia Silva.
This bout could be divided into two halves. In the first half, Silva was just too quick for Cong, who walked into a lot of shots while whiffing on her own punches. After some committed low kicking and pressure, however, Silva slowed down to a more human speed. Suddenly, Cong was landing more often, and Silva was a little more defensive.
That shift occurred somewhere around round three, making for a close decision at the end of the day. However, Silva’s strong start was enough to capture the decision and UFC gold.
