Green Bay Packers fans will flip out if MarShawn Lloyd can stay healthy this season and provide a quality change of pace as a second running back. They probably won’t literally be doing flips, however, like Lloyd did in practice on Thursday after scoring a big touchdown.
Lloyd’s backflip was the highlight of a closed practice on Thursday, when the Packers reportedly installed a number of concepts that they are keeping close to the vest. The team has appeared to be a bit more paranoid than usual with
what they’re revealing in their open practices thus far, so Matt LaFleur and company were surely happy to have a private practice so they could work on some of the more nuanced and surprising plays they want to have in their arsenal this season.
Don’t expect Lloyd to be celebrating like that again, however. He was clear when talking to the media on Thursday afternoon that LaFleur had told him to stop doing that. That’s okay, though — when he scores touchdowns at Lambeau Field instead of on the practice field, there’s a different jumping celebration that will be expected of him.
Lloyd may well get a chance to do a Lambeau Leap this evening as well, with Family Night taking place under the lights. Check out the details for tonight’s practice here and keep it at APC for full training camp coverage leading up to the Packers’ preseason opener next Thursday night.

Bill Huber didn’t get into too much detail because of the secretive nature of the practice, but the lineup notes are the big things to see here. A new #1 offensive line (featuring rookie Jager Burton) and Brandon Cisse continuing to take all of the starter’s reps at cornerback are the most notable items.
Packers RB MarShawn Lloyd’s backflip shows he’s finally healthy | NFL.com
It’s great that Lloyd is not just healthy but looking explosive and dynamic so far in camp. Given the uncertainty around Josh Jacobs’ long-term future, both due to his legal issues and his contract, it would be enormous if Lloyd can become a major contributor this year.

Several young Packers players have commented on Gannon’s “crazy” energy, which is a very different side of him than what he showed as a head coach in Arizona.

It certainly sounds like the Packers intend for Franklin to have the green dot all season long, and his ability to communicate the calls is earning praise.

If you didn’t watch last night’s Hall of Fame Game, that’s entirely understandable. Still, this was a fun moment from before the game, when Packers coach Matt LaFleur called in to talk to his little brother before his coaching debut.
