We’re one week away from UFC 330: Makhachev vs. Garry and the UFC has released its Countdown show highlighting the two championship matches on the card.
UFC 330 goes down on August 15th from the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and features a welterweight title fight between champion Islam Makhachev and challenger Ian Machado Garry.
This is Makhachev’s first defense of the 170 pound belt after taking it off Jack Della Maddalena back in November 2025. That was a wildly dominant performance
that saw Makhachev take down Della Maddalena with ease and keep him there for 25 long minutes. Can Ian Machado Garry avoid the same fate? He certainly believes he can, but Makhachev isn’t considered the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world for nothing.
Also on the card: Mackenzie Dern will defend her women’s strawweight title against Gillian Robertson in a battle of jiu jitsu aces. Dern’s credentials span decades — she was an ADCC and IBJJF champion before crossing over into MMA. As for Robertson, more than half of her MMA wins come via submission. Will they go to the ground or stay on their feet and trade?
