UFC Perth has taken a hit.
On Thursday, the promotion announced a light heavyweight matchup between Junior Tafa and Ibo Aslan has been removed from next Saturday’s UFC Perth lineup due to injury. The bout was to serve as the event’s co-headliner.
The UFC did not reveal which athlete was forced off with an injury. In a social media post, the promotion still touted the event as being “absolutely stacked with local talent”, bumping Jimmy Crute vs. Ivan Erslan to the penultimate bout right before the five-round
205-pound clash between contenders Carlos Ulberg and Dominick Reyes.
Junior Tafa won’t be entering the cage, but his brother Justin Tafa remains on the main card versus Louie Sutherland.
