After starting the 2026 season 2-0, the Cincinnati Bengals fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers
in frustrating fashion this afternoon.The Bengals had multiple chances to not only break the game open but to also win it late in the 4th quarter.
Special teams was disastrous, shifting momentum not once but twice, and Joe Burrow fumbled the ball away during their potential game-winning drive.
Despite the ugly loss, one stat was brought to all Bengals fans that is even uglier, and that is Zac Taylor is now 6-51
when trailing after three quarters during his tenure in Cincinnati.
It is not easy to close out games in the NFL with how thin the margin of error truly is, but to only have 6 wins out of 57 total games trailing going into the 4th quarter is stunning.
The Bengals had multiple chances this afternoon alone to break the game open and take over in Pittsburgh, but there were multiple coaching errors that prevented that from happening.
After his 51st loss when trailing after three quarters of play, Taylor said, “They earned the win, we did not….We’ll go home and see what we’re made of next week.”
The Bengals will return to Paycor Stadium for the first time since the season opener and look to get back in the win column, hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars.
