Jalen Brewster, a 5-star defensive line prospect in the class of 2027, has announced his commitment date: October 4th. This announcement comes the day after Brewster was on campus for Indiana’s dominant
63-10 win over Illinois.
Brewster will be choosing from Texas, USC, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Oregon, SMU, LSU, and Indiana. Brewster, a native of Cedar Hills, Texas, is considered the no. 8 prospect in the class of 2027, per the 247 Composite Rankings, and the top defensive lineman overall.
As a guest for the Illinois game, Brewster was able to see just how important strong defensive line play is for Indiana’s defensive scheme. In the historic win over the Illini, Tyrique Tucker and Mario Landino combined for four sacks, while Kellan Wyatt and Stephen Daley were each credited with a half sack.
Indiana is up against a long list of football blue bloods here but have definitely started to establish themselves on the national stage under Curt Cignetti. At No. 11 in the latest AP Poll, Indiana is ahead of two other finalists here, USC and Texas Tech.
