Bayern Munich is planning for the next generation of players, starting with Jonas Urbig in goal. The Bavarians are looking for a No. 2 to support him, and their search has brought them to a familiar face. No, it’s not Tom Starke, it’s Johannes Schenk.
When asked about his future, the 23-year-old goalkeeper said: “Tt’s about getting the most out of myself this season, developing every day, and helping the team as much as possible. Everything else will fall into place. I’m very ambitious and always
want to take the next step in my career and play at the highest possible level.” (Tz’s Mano Bonke as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia)
Schenk was previously signed to Bayern between 2017 and 2024 before moving to Preußen Münster on a permanent deal. He then went on loan to Beveren in Belgium after Preußen was relegated last season and was noted for putting in solid performances. Bayern has a buy-back clause inserted in Schenk’s contract with Preußen.
