Children of the ’80s rejoice! Hulk Hogan’s Rock ‘n’ Wrestling is back on the air!
Well, sort of.
Earlier this week, Variety reported that Hulk Hogan’s Rock ‘n’ Wrestling — the hit 1980s cartoon that helped turn Hulk Hogan, his nemesis Rowdy Roddy Piper, and others into household names — was coming to WWE Vault. Per Variety:
“WWE will begin running episodes of the cult classic cartoon series, which originally aired from 1985-1986, in batches of four episodes every Saturday morning beginning Sept. 6 on the WWE Vault.
The episodes will air in chronological order and will drop at 6 a.m., 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. (all times are ET).”
WWE confirmed Variety’s report on Friday. The first episodes were uploaded today (Sept. 6, 2025).
Hulk Hogan’s Rock ‘n’ Wrestling premiered on Sept. 14, 1985, and ran until October 1986 for a total of 26 episodes. Besides showcasing WWE Superstars in animated form, the show also featured live-action skits. In the first episode, manager Bobby “The Brain” Heenan offers workout advice — only to hilariously struggle with a barbell that’s barely heavier than a couple gallons of milk.
“I don’t need this junk. I got a brain,” Heenan declares after royally embarrassing himself.
Although the show featured top stars like Jimmy Snuka, Andre the Giant, and the Iron Sheik, the animated characters were not voiced by the wrestlers themselves. Instead, they were portrayed by actors. Main character Hogan was voiced by Brad Garrett, later known for his role on Everybody Loves Raymond. The beloved Junkyard Dog was voiced by the late, great James Avery — better known to ‘90s TV viewers as Uncle Phil from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
The re-release of the popular ’80s cartoon comes a little over a month after the passing of Hulk Hogan this past July. Despite the controversies that surrounded his personal life, the character of Hulk Hogan remains arguably the most iconic persona in pro wrestling history. With WWE Vault’s revival of his classic cartoon series, it appears Hulkamania lives on.
So grab a bowl of Cocoa Pebbles, settle in on the couch, and get comfy in your footed pajamas — because Hulk Hogan’s Rock ‘n’ Wrestling is back, brother!
