The Orioles have not looked great against the Astros so far in this series. But maybe a Dean Kremer start is all they need to get back on track. The righty was terrific (7 IP, 1 run, 3 hits, 1 walk, 7 strikeouts) against these very same Astros in his most recent start. That was on top of a start against the Mariners in which he allowed only one run over eight innings. All of that has his ERA down to 3.97 on the season. That would be his best mark since 2022, but he has already thrown 22 more innings so far in 2025
than he did in in all of ‘22.
Baltimore’s bats were better last night. They scored seven times. The starting lineup will get some tweaks tonight. That includes the first time Samuel Basallo starts a game since signing his big extension on Friday, although he did get a pair of at-bats last night. He is joined in the lineup by Vimael Machín. The 31-year-old homered on the very first pitch he saw as an Oriole when he came on as a pinch hitter. It was also his first big league action since 2022 with Oakland.
Let’s get back in the win column, Birds!
