What is the story about?

Whiteout
Shift
- Clemson-Georgia Tech: The Tigers from South Carolina also looked like they were hungover last week, dragging ass against another Sun Belt team in Troy. However, our former foes have a tougher ask on deck this week as they have to go on the road to the Flats to play a very game Georgia Tech, who is issuing a whiteout order for Bobby Dodd and holds the SP+ favor.
- Memphis-Troy: Speaking of Troy, this is probably going to be the second best game of the nooners. It’s that kind of week.
- Wisconsin-Alabama: The Tide losing to Florida State to open the season was fun, yes, but Wisconsin is not Florida State and Bama seemingly took out all of their frustration out last week in a get right game against ULM. I wouldn’t expect a repeat from week one in BDS.
- South Alabama-Auburn: I agree, it would be funny. But I wouldn’t count on it.
Checkerboard Shift
- Georgia-Tennessee: This is without a doubt the game of the week, because apart from Tennessee picking apart Syracuse and Georgia with Marshall, it’s the first meaningful game for either team and should be a good baseline for establishing expectations. Plus, Tennessee is issuing a checkerboard order for Neyland.
- Pitt-West Virginia: I’m led these two programs do not care much for each other? Not sure if anybody else has heard about this but it could be cool to see. Also, the game should be pretty tight so that should be cool.
- Washington State-North Texas: Our lowkey banger of the week, brought to us by virtue of Wazzu having to become college football ronin and take whatever game they can get. I would not anticipate that defense lovers would appreciate this matchup, but everyone else should.
- USF-Miami (FL): I want to believe.
Goldout Shift
- Florida-LSU: Wear gold. Hydrate. Wear gold. Show up. Get drunk. Eat gator. Wear gold. Get in the stadium. Be loud. Let the Valley Shake. Send Billy back to the Sun Belt. Wear gold.
- Texas A&M-Notre Dame: Pretty decent undercard matchup here, should be a hell of a game if not for a subdued atmosphere in Notre Dame stadium. They should order a green out.
- Arkansas-Ole Miss: It sort of flew under the radar last week, but while the Rebels took some time putting away Kentucky, the Razorbacks summarily disposed of Arkansas State in Little Rock with little difficulty. I think the situation is certainly one worth monitoring and assessing.
- Duke-Tulane: Darian Mensah returns to his old stomping grounds, albeit on the opposite sideline and a touchdown underdog. Isn’t the transfer portal incredible?
Robert Kekaula Memorial Shift
- Minnesota-Cal: SP+ is calling this a field goal tossup, which is good enough for me to fall on when and if the Florida game ever ends.
- Texas State-Arizona State: Remember that Thursday night banger these two teams played last season?Well it’s time for the return leg, and if it’s anything like last year’s, sign me up.
- Air Force-Utah State: Look, it probably won’t be the highest quality football, but we don’t stay up past midnight watching football because it’s high quality, you know?
- Boston College-Stanford: Same note here, except there is a pretty clear FBS cellar team here and one just plain mid team. But what’s interesting is the #BodyClock element here as this game is kicking off at 10:30 local time for the Golden Eagles. We’ll see if that has an impact.
