Purdue fans, H&R readers, it’s Friday which means we’ve got survey results coming your way. Considering that we are deep in the heart of football season it’s no surprise that both questions this week are about football.
The first question this week asked how many games Purdue would win this season considering they were already at two. I asked a pair of similar questions over the summer and I think they are good comparisons. The week of July 12th I asked if Purdue would finish over or under the general
consensus of 3 wins.

You can see that 71% of respondents thought Purdue would win at least four games. Two weeks later I asked what you all thought Purdue’s record would be after the first three games of the season.

67% felt Purdue would be 2-1 after week 3 while 13% believed Purdue would be 3-0. Now, with all that out of the way, let’s see where Purdue fans think that the team will end up at the season’s end.

You can see if you add up those numbers that now a full 83% of respondents believe that Purdue will finish with 4 or more wins. That’s a 12% increase from where you all were over the summer. Seems like maybe there’s a teensy bit of optimism creeping into the fanbase.
Now, how many of you thought Purdue would be able to defeat USC?

One in four respondents, 25%, think Purdue will beat the Trojans on Saturday. That is, remarkably, a 12% increase over the percent of respondents who thought Purdue would be 3-0 when I asked that in July. Is that the same 12% that also increased their win total for the season? It would make sense.
We will find out who was right in about 28 hours.
