Tennessee has picked up a commitment from longtime tight end target Malik Howard this morning. The 4-star prospect made his decision on Saturday, committing to Tennessee over several high profile offers.
Howard come from nearby Oak Ridge. The 6-3, 231 pound prospect
received his offer from Tennessee more than two years ago, and now commits to the Volunteers during his official visit. Howard is one of several high-profile prospects on campus this weekend.
Holding over 30 offers, Howard chose Tennessee over Notre Dame and Oregon in the end. According to 247Sports, Howard is the 183rd ranked prospect in the class of 2027. He’s the eight ranked tight end in the cycle and Tennessee’s first commitment at the position in the class.
Howard plans to enroll early and arrive at Tennessee in January.
Tennessee now holds ten commitments in the class, with Howard checking in as the third highest ranked player in the group. The Volunteers sit 37th in the class rankings with official visits heating up, per 247Sports.
