Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Seahawks fans and fans across the country.
One of these days, the Seattle Seahawks defense will allow a 100-yard rusher again. James Cook of the Buffalo Bills is the last one to crack the century mark, rampaging for 111 yards and a couple of scores in a 31-10 thrashing at Lumen Field. It’s been 35 consecutive games of mostly exemplary run defense by the Seahawks since October 2024,
but this week presents their toughest challenge yet… and yet their most familiar one.
Kenneth Walker III is showing he can be an undisputed RB1 with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Super Bowl MVP leads the NFL in rushing with 665 yards, which is more than the entire Seahawks rushing attack put together. He’s averaging over six yards per carry and has only failed to crack the 100-yard mark once in five games. He’s now going up against the stingy Seahawks run defense, albeit one that that has been caught out a little more than last year in terms of giving up explosive runs.
So… is it going to happen? Is K9 going to be the one to crack Seattle’s vaunted run defense? Or will the Seahawks defense find a way to shut down their former teammate? Keep in mind that if the Seahawks, say, jump out to a 31-3 lead in the first half and the Chiefs generally have no choice but to keep throwing the ball, Walker could be rendered a non-factor through sheer game script circumstances. Alternatively, if the Seahawks’ sick addiction to turnovers doesn’t stop and the game gets out of hand the other way, K9 could feast even more as the Chiefs keep running the ball relentlessly.
Your other question is the weekly confidence poll, which I imagine is just going to keep tanking until the Seahawks win again.
