The Milwaukee Brewers won the World Series. May it be so for us someday.
Now, we wait to see what happens in free agency and trades before baseball shuts down for an indeterminate amount of time due to an owner-imposed lockout on December 1st.
Free agents can now negotiate with their current teams and then on November 2nd, open free agency Begins. The deadline to tender arbitration-eligible players is November 20th, and the deadline to put Rule-5 -eligible players on the roster is November 17th. Generally
speaking, teams treat a Rule-5 draft as if it will happen while knowing a lockout makes it unlikely.
So, there you have it. We’ll have some baseball news for the next 32 days… and then just lockout posturing for about 5 months, before a deal is inevitably struck. That’s my prediction.
