Wales Women’s National Team and Seattle Reign legend, Jessica Fishlock has announced her retirement from international play after 19 years for Cymru.
“I have made the decision that the match against Australia
will be my last one in the red of Cymru,” Fishlock said.
Most recently, the Welsh captain participated in the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, the first time Wales qualified for such a competition, and scored the first and only goal that national team tallied at said competition.
Regarding that tournament, Fishlock said: “The EUROs was the pinnacle of my football career, seeing the dragon on the world stage for the first time will be a memory that will stay with me for a lifetime.”
After achieving her long-time dream, the historic captain has made an impact that is simply, unmatched.
“I see so many young girls playing football across Wales no, and the future is bright for our country,” she said.
Fishlock made her debut against Switzerland in 2006 and has represented her country more than 150 times.
