Let’s run through a Philadelphia Eagles-focused rooting guide for all of the Week 5 games.
EAGLES GAME
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES at JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS: The Eagles need to beat the Jags in London to avoid falling below .500. Go Birds.
NFC EAST
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS beat DALLAS COWBOYS: Dallas entered their Week 5 Thursday night game against the Bucs as 9.5-point home favorites. They lost. Lol Cowboys.
NEW YORK GIANTS at WASHINGTON COMMANDERS: The Giants currently lead the division
with a 3-1 record and they have some more winnable games coming up. Best to see the 1-3 Commanders win instead. Root for the Commanders.
NFC PLAYOFF PICTURE
CHICAGO BEARS at GREEN BAY PACKERS: The Bears are clearly the bigger threat in the NFC and they hold a head-to-head tiebreaker over the Eagles. Root for the Packers.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS at NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: The Vikings are the bigger threat in the NFC. Root for the Saints.
DETROIT LIONS at ARIZONA CARDINALS: Even with the Detroit defense being so bad, the Lions are the bigger threat in the NFC. Root for the Cardinals.
SAN FRANCISCO 49ers at SEATTLE SEAHAWKS: If the 49ers beat the Seahawks, they’ll be on a nice path to getting the No. 1 seed. Preferable to not see that happen. Root for the Seahawks.
BALTIMORE RAVENS at ATLANTA FALCONS: The Eagles now own the Ravens’ fifth-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft following the Cam Jurgens trade. So, there’s upside in seeing Baltimore lose. But the Eagles would prefer the Falcons to lose as it relates to the NFC playoff picture. Root for the Ravens.
BUFFALO BILLS at LOS ANGELES RAMS: AFC team over NFC team. Root for the Bills.
WHAT’S LEFT
LAS VEGAS RAIDERS at NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS: The Eagles own the more favorable of two 2027 fifth-round picks either from the Pats or Bears. Might as well root against New England. Root for the Raiders.
CINCINNATI BENGALS at MIAMI DOLPHINS: No Eagles impact. But if you’re already turning your attention to caring about positioning in the 2027 NFL Draft, you want the Dolphins to win here.
HOUSTON TEXANS at TENNESSEE TITANS: No Eagles impact.
CLEVELAND BROWNS at NEW YORK JETS: No Eagles impact.
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS at PITTSBURGH STEELERS: No Eagles impact.
DENVER BRONCOS at LOS ANGELES CHARGERS: No Eagles impact.
