Before the main event of the June 22 Raw from London, WWE offered a pre-taped interview between Seth Rollins and Corey Graves. That served both as hype for Rollins latest clash with his old faction The Vision, coming up this Saturday when he faces Bron Breakker in a Night of Champions
steel cage match, and the WWE Men’s World Tag title match between Seth’s old team The Vision and his new friends the Street Profits.Rollins is part of why Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford are now four-time Tag champs, but he’s not the only reason. The Profits deserve a ton of credit — for being good WWE employees even when creative’s had nothing for them for months at a time the past few years, if nothing else.
They also got an assist from a returning Joe Hendry, despite the fact no one said his name. He got a good pop from his countryfolk (a London crowd that was mostly only kinda into things all show, and didn’t sound a whole lot different from an average “okay” U.S. live audience). Hendry’s return thwarted Paul’s attempt to give Austin Theory a pair of brass knuckles, making it payback for The Vision’s backstage attack on him last month.
Logan Paul’s back from his torn triceps but he’s not cleared, so Breakker and Theory defended the belts. Paul was thrown out earlier when caught putting Theory’s foot on the ropes to stop a pin count.
Paul Heyman was not there to call plays for his team though, and it cost them. While the referee was reacting to Hendry’s arrival and exit, Theory failed to use the knucks. Rollins did show up as Joe chased Logan off, ripped the weapon out of Austin’s hands and clocking him with it. Neither he nor Breakker is known for their intellect, so it wasn’t surprising when Bron ran after Seth through the crowd, leaving his unconcious partner to take the Profits’ finishers and lose the belts.
Excited for Tez and Dawkins? Do you think they’ll be on TV much, or disappear like some secondary champs do? What does this say for Saturday’s cage match?
