WWE riled some folks up when they booked Chicago to the very same night as AEW this weekend. The only reason to put Worlds Collide up against All Out was to try to hurt the promotion in terms of sales. Of course, it didn’t actually work out for them, as AEW sold out and WWE didn’t even broadcast its event, at least not live.
In the aftermath of a successful show, one where he retained the AEW world championship by defeating Jon Moxley in the main event, Will Ospreay was feeling particularly tribal.
He cut a promo on WWE at the post-show media scrum, outright telling them “do not ever fucking step to us ever again.”
It’s a not entirely unfair response, considering it’s always been WWE coming at AEW and not necessarily the other way around, at least not in such a deliberately targeted manner. However, it’s not the only way to see things. You can be a bit more of a pacifist about it, and that’s the route Swerve Strickland chose to take.
