Luis Díaz’s signing from Liverpool last season was met with excitement, and scepticism; After all, €75m for a 29-year-old winger doesn’t exactly seem like smart business. But Bayern a vein of Colombian gold.
Lucho smashed all expectations — and scepticism for that matter — scoring a staggering 25 goals and assisting 19 more across the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and UEFA Champions League, marking his most prolific season in his career.
In a recent interview, Díaz was asked to share his thoughts on the upcoming
season, and if everything plays out the way the Colombian winger desires, expect tons of goals and silverware.
“I want to score lots of goals and provide lots of assists,” said Díaz before sharing the team’s intentions for the upcoming season (via @iMiaSanMia). “The goal, of course, is to win as many titles as possible. I’m looking forward to special moments with the fans.”
Díaz is already meeting his desires after an electric, yet short preseason. After missing Bayern’s opening fixtures against Wehen Wiesbaden and Rottach-Eggern, he wasted no time picking up last seasons form, scoring goals against Aston Villa, Heidenheim, and RB Leipzig.
Lucho will be hoping to emulate the same vein of form in Bayern’s Bundesliga opener against VfB Stuttgart on 28 August.
