The United States Women’s National Team hit the field for the first time since July 2nd tonight when they take on Portugal in their first friendly of the October international window. The USWNT hope to continue
their evaluation of players as head coach Emma Hayes brings in a couple of new faces and even will have a player from the U-23s join the team for the match.
They face a Portugal team that’s ranked 23rd in the world and presents an intriguing matchup. It’s the first of two friendlies against Portugal in this window as players hope to establish themselves in the main rotation in time for World Cup qualifying next year.
