The Miami Dolphins were decimated by injury in the defensive secondary during the 2025 season, with multiple players landing on injured reserve throughout the season. Every time the Dolphins seemed to have a solution to the constant turnover, another issue seemed to pop up.
Conerback Storm Duck was one of those players who was crushed by injuries. Now, as the team heads into 2026, Duck is hoping to put 2025 in the rearview mirror.

Duck opened the 2025 season as a starting cornerback, looking to build off his 2024 rookie season, but an ankle injury during the team’s Week 1 game against the Indianapolis Colts cost him the next six games. He returned for the team’s Week 8 contest against the Atlanta Falcons, but only lasted 15 snaps before a knee injury landed him on injured reserve, ending his season. Going back to his rookie season, Duck appeared in 14 games, starting three of them, with 35 tackles and four passes defensed.

2026 expectations
The cornerback position is one to watch this summer as the Dolphins work out who will start where and when. JuJu Brents likely takes one of the starting positions, while Duck could be battling with second-year corner Jason Marshall and first-round rookie Chris Johnson for the other starting role. Duck should be solidly on the roster, but he will have the summer to prove he is ready to take over as a starter.
Duck, who is still rehabilitating his knee injury, was limited throughout the team’s offseason training program, and his status for the start of training camp is unclear.
