College coaches could start contacting players from the class of 2028 on June 15. In volleyball, that means players start announcing their commitments almost immediately. Arizona head coach Rita Stubbs and her staff didn’t have to go far for their first pledge.
In-state outside hitter Nikolina Djordjevich announced her commitment to Arizona on Tuesday evening. The 6-foot-1 pin from Mesa will join the Wildcats from Mountain View High School and Arizona Storm VBC.
“I am so grateful to get to stay home
and honored to be a part of such an amazing program and can’t wait for what lies ahead,“ she wrote in her Instagram post.
Djordjevich is from a volleyball family. She and her twin sister Andjelina followed their older sister into the sport and now play together for Mountain View. She is one of four sisters who play the sport.
Djordjevich has played on the MVHS varsity team both years of high school but only her sophomore stats are available on MaxPreps. She averaged 3.0 kills per set on .209 hitting in 82 sets last season. She served 0.3 aces per set and had an ace percentage of 11.4 percent. She also contributed 0.3 blocks per set. On serve receive, she received the ball 4.0 times per set with 0.6 receiving errors per set. She also contributed 1.7 digs per set.
Djordjevich is ranked the No. 31 player from the state of Arizona by Prep Dig. She is not ranked on their national board. PrepVolleyball has her rated as a three-star recruit.
While she doesn’t have a profile on VB Adrenaline, the evaluating service did have positive things to say about her last November when the staff wrote about the top recruits in the state of Arizona.
Nikolina has nice size at the pin. She does a good job contacting the ball at the high point of her swing and is a strong front row presence. We look forward to seeing more of her and her development this club season.
Djordjevich and her classmates will sign in November of 2027. When she arrives for the 2028 season, she will have big shoes to fill. She will come to Tucson the year after former No. 1 recruit Carlie Cisneros is set to graduate.
Djordjevich’s highlights can be found on her HUDL profile.
