Barcelona loanee Ansu Fati made his long-awaited Monaco debut on Thursday night in the Ligue 1 club’s Champions League clash with Club Brugge.
The forward has had to be patient since moving from Barcelona but came on with 27 minutes of the game remaining and marked the occasion with a goal.
Fati struck a low shot from inside the penalty from a corner late on to grab a consolation goal in a 4-1 defeat for Monaco.
It’s a poor result for Monaco in their opening Champions League fixture of the 2025-26 season but a good moment for Fati.
He will now be hoping this can be the lift-off he needs after a slow start to life in France as he bids to get his career back on track with Adi Hutter’s side.
Fati will spend the season on loan with Monaco, and the transfer does include a purchase option.
