Bayern Munich and Harry Kane have finally reached an agreement on a new contract, according to news breaking today reported by Sky Sports:
BREAKING: Harry Kane has agreed a new deal in principle with Bayern Munich until the summer of 2029.
It’s understood the Bundesliga club are now finalising the paperwork on his contract extension 🚨
The news comes as no surprise and it is worth pointing out that the i’s and t’s have not yet been dotted and crossed. But this is the culmination of the Kane extension
saga, which thankfully for Bayern fans has not been too dramatic, though it should be cause for many sighs of relief that the England superstar is all but confirmed to be staying.
No word yet on all the finer details, including Kane’s reportedly desired release clause. It is notable also that while Kane was said to have wanted a longer deal, to 2030, this will only be a two-year extension for the two seasons after this one.
Kane already has eight goals and four assists across all competitions through his first nine matches played for Bayern this season. The Bavarians have been stumbling lately however, dropping points in both the Bundesliga and Champions League in consecutive matches. A signed, sealed, and delivered contract extension for their big star could be the boost the team needs to hit its stride.
