If you, in the past, ever said that Stetson Bennett didn’t belong in the NFL, I can understand that based on the last couple years, why you might say that. Bennett didn’t play his rookie season, and last year, in his second season, Bennett was very up and down during his preseason play, but this preseason, hasn’t Bennett looked like a competent quarterback?
So, I wonder, where are the Bennett haters now? Are they waiting for Bennett to falter? Have they moved on to hating other players? I am not going
to pretend to be some Bennett truther, but I think it’s funny how little negative feedback I have been reading about Bennett these last couple weeks, so I wonder, where did all the haters go?
We try to fun around here, thanks to all our readers and commenters, have a great Tuesday and thanks for checking out Turf Show Times!
Stetson Bennett Pulls Off an Unbelievable Comeback for the Rams in Preseason Victory (lamag.com)
“SoFi Stadium was electric Saturday night as the Los Angeles Rams pulled off one of the most improbable comebacks in recent memory, overcoming a back-and-forth battle with their cross-town rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers. The star of the show was quarterback Stetson Bennett, who sealed a 23-22 Rams victory in preseason play.
For Rams fans, there is another reason to celebrate: star quarterback Matthew Stafford, sidelined with an injury earlier this season, is back in practice. His return is a huge boost for the team, adding veteran leadership to a roster that had leaned heavily on Bennett in recent weeks.“

“When asked his confidence level in Stafford being ready for the Rams’ season opener against the Houston Texans, McVay said, “I think that would be putting the cart way before the horse.”
“My job is to make sure [I] stay steady and even keeled,” McVay said. “No. 1 for Matthew, but for our group. And of course, you want him to feel as good as possible and be able to lead the way, but if the circumstances don’t allow that, then we have a lot of confidence in Jimmy [Garoppolo] and Stetson [Bennett] and our group as a whole.”
How to bet on the Rams: Super Bowl odds, win total, props, best bets for Los Angeles in 2025 (cbssports.com)
“The NFC West won’t be easy once again in 2025 as the 49ers suffered horrific injury luck last year and the Seahawks tied the Rams with 10 wins. But L.A. may be the best positioned team in the division thanks in large part to a defensive core that’s been built across the last two drafts, as Jared Verse and Braden Fiske were selected in the first two rounds last year and Kobie Turner and Byron Young were third-round selections in 2023. That group has really clicked for the Rams, especially late, holding four of their final six opponents, including the playoffs, to nine points or less. Now, that unit gets a boost with Poona Ford joining the fray, so big things could be in store for the Rams defensively in 2025.“
