Marc Casado appears to be heading towards the exit door at Barcelona after a frustrating season with the Catalan giants.
The midfielder has found game time hard to come by and is now said to be willing to listen to offers to move on, according to Diario Sport.
Casado had previously insisted he was determined to stay and fight for his place, but it seems he’s had a change of heart and is now convinced the best option is for him to seek a new challenge.
The report claims that Casado’s loss of prominence
is a key factor in his decision making. The midfielder hasn’t started recently despite injuries to Frenkie de Jong, Marc Bernal and Gavi and knows he can’t afford another season confined to the bench.
The return to fitness of Gavi has also increased competition for places in the Barca midfield, meaning it’s going to be even harder for Casado to find some first-team minutes.
Casado is also said to have made his mind up as Barca have not made a move to extend his contract. There had been talk of an extension to his current deal that runs until 2028 but that seems to have been shelved.
Sport say that Saudi Arabia looks the most likely destination for the midfielder in a deal worth around €20 million. There have been offers from other Spanish clubs but none that interest Casado.
