The Golden State Warriors wrap up their six-game road trip with tonight’s matchup against the Miami Heat. Tip-off is set for 4:30 PM PT in Miami and can be watched on NBC Sports Bay Area.
Previously with the Warriors:
Despite a pair of 30-point performances from Steph Curry (34) and Jimmy Butler (33), Golden State saw their three-game winning streak come to an end with Tuesday’s
121–113 loss to the Orlando Magic. The game started at a frenetic pace with both teams trading buckets, but the Magic eventually built a cushion that the Warriors just couldn’t overcome. Turnovers were the biggest culprit: Golden State committed 18 of them, leading directly to easy transition opportunities for the Magic. Orlando outscored the Warriors 28–16 in fast-break points.
What to watch for tonight:
The Warriors appear to be limping toward the finish line as this long road trip comes to an end. The team has already ruled out Curry, who is dealing with an ankle issue, as well as Al Horford, who will sit the second night of the back-to-back. Butler, Draymond Green, and Buddy Hield are also listed as questionable.
Wednesday’s game marks Butler’s second appearance in Miami since last year’s trade-deadline move. His exit from the Heat was far from smooth, with tensions on both sides hitting an apex on his way out.
In his first game against the Heat last season, Butler finished with just 11 points in 29 minutes during a 112–86 blowout loss. If he does play tonight, expect a more aggressive approach — especially with Curry out — against the franchise where he played five and a half seasons.
