Will Vinicius Junior leave Real Madrid? The Brazilian superstar’s contract expires in 2027 with no renewal in sights and several high profile rejections already behind him, making the summer of 2026 a crucial one. Real’s previous boss, Xabi Alonso, and Vinicus Junior enjoyed a very strained relationship, which contributed heavily to the former’s dismissal, but the possibility remains that both will have left the club within the span of a year. Will Real’s #7 truly leave Los Blancos?
While talk continues
about a potential exit, the media continued down this road and started speculating about potential destinations. Bayern Munich, as one of the biggest clubs in the world and Real’s Champions League quarterfinal opponents, are the perfect trendy club to link the Brazilian to. But supervisory board member and former long-time president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge would hear nothing of a move to Bayern.
“The question is redundant – he’s priceless and already at the ideal club,” the former Inter Milan player stated simply when Spanish news site Diario AS proposed the possibility of the transfer, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “It wouldn’t surprise me if he’s one of Florentino Pérez’s favorites. I’ve heard Saudi clubs are knocking, but I don’t think he’ll leave. Florentino is an aesthete of the game and will do everything to keep him. I remember that brace in the first leg two years ago.”
The game Rummenigge refers to is the 2-2 draw between Bayern and Real Madrid in the 2024 Champions League semifinal, which helped condemn Bayern to another loss to their Spanish rivals. Bayern will hope, even if he does not join Die Rekordmeister, that Vinicius Jr will have less of an impact in their current match up.
