It is easy to forget that Bara Sapoko Ndiaye joined Bayern Munich in the January transfer window. Impressing (during a temporary spell for Bayern’s fellow Red&Gold football cooperators Grasshopper Zürich) against the Bavarians in a summer friendly, Ndiaye joined Bayern on loan a few months later in an effort to advance the youngster’s development. Essentially, this loan would be a trial run for the Senegalese footballer.
Ndiaye arrived injured, though, and spent multiple weeks building up his fitness
behind the scenes. Add to this Nidaye’s ineligibility for Bayern’s youth teams and it is not surprising that he has not seen any appearances in any official competitions.
The 18-year-old’s quest to prove himself in Munich has now reportedly taken another hit, as Sky Germany journalist Kerry Hau reports that he has sustained yet another injury:
Next Bayern talent injured: Bara Sapoko Ndiaye suffered a capsular injury during training last Friday. The 18-year-old midfielder, who only arrived in Munich in January, will be out for 3 to 4 weeks.
The goal was never for Ndiaye to force his way into or even near Bayern’s first team this season. The goal for these months in Munich is simply to introduce him to Europe and challenge him with the greater intensity of training at Bayern. But if he keeps getting hurt, it may hurt the youngster’s ability to show what he can really do. Hopefully he makes as swift a return from his injury as is possible.
