What is the story about?
On Saturday, the WNBA announced that Washington Mystics center Shakira Austin was named to the All-WNBA Second Team. This is Austin’s first honor to the All-WNBA team and she is the Mystics’ first All-WNBA player since Tina Charles in 2021.
In the 2026 season, Austin averaged 17.0
points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game. Though she did not make the All-Star Team, Austin is getting the final laugh by making the All-WNBA Defensive first team in addition to this honor.
