Florida State (2-0) spent the third week of the college football season on its first bye week, getting a chance to reset after pulling off what is arguably still the win of the season so far against Alabama, then setting multiple program records in a 77-3 win over East Texas A&M.
Even when idle, the Seminoles got a chance to move up in the rankings, with the Coaches Poll slotting them at No. 9 in the country and the AP Top 25 ranking them at No. 7.
Florida State takes on Kent State (1-2) this weekend,
with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m. (ACC Network) in Tallahassee. The Golden Flashes have lost 23 straight games to FBS opponents, though they did snap their overall 21-game losing streak (which included nine straight to FCS opponents) in the season-opener.
