Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about Mizzou Football Recruiting
After the reports of Ole Miss quarterback Austin Simmons expected to transfer to Mizzou, it’s been an otherwise slow start to the transfer portal activity for Eli Drinkwitz and the staff.
Boy, did that changed on Monday.
Missouri landed their first transfer portal commitment of the offseason with the addition of Oregon cornerback Jahlil Florence — coming at a position of need.
Florence has struggled to stay on the field consistently due to injuries,
but the former four-star recruit has made some high-level plays with the Ducks.
Florence will have two years of eligibility remaining, which is a huge plus considering it’s a transfer portal addition.
Joining Jahlil Florence via the transfer portal is Cincinnati wide receiver Caleb Goodie — who will also have two years of eligibility.
Though, the arguably the biggest addition was late last night of former Auburn linebacker Robert Woodyard Jr.
Mizzou then added to their 2026 recruiting class with the commitment of three-star defensive tackle Jocques Felix — an in-state product from Cardinal Ritter High School.
We’re just getting started here, folks. There will be much more to come. Stay tuned for all things Mizzou Football coverage on RockM+.

Even as a hater I have to give credit to Lindsey’s ability to rehab a fallen offense and get them back to the profile that they wanted, and he excelled at. They ran the ball, utilized efficiency, and had uncreated passing schemes for a freshman quarterback. All in an effort to put the Michigan defense in a position to win games. It’s what Lindsey has done for most of his career. And what Eli Drinkwitz wants.
Maybe this Chip Lindsey guy isn’t so bad after all?
After missing the NCAA Tournament in a disappointing 2025 season, the Mizzou volleyball team is prepped for an important offseason. Between the graduation of high-level talents like Maya Sands, Tyrah Ariail and Caylen Alexander and the unpredictability of the transfer portal, head coach Dawn Sullivan has the opportunity to fill some team holes using said portal.
Expect Mizzou Volleyball to be busy this offseason after a disappointing year.
Missouri really is a different team with Pierce and Jayden Stone.
A key takeaway here after a much-needed win over Florida.
Coming out of high school in the Class of 2022, Florence was a four-star prospect and was a top 100 player in the country. He chose Oregon over schools like LSU, Michigan, Miami and Oklahoma.
The talent is there if Florence can stay on the field.
Mizzou sits no. 2 in the country after Week 1, just 0.125 behind the no. 1 team, UCLA, who scored a 196.975 on Saturday. That’s cool enough in itself and their highest ever ranking in any week; but consider this. They were that close to taking the top spot for the week WHILE COUNTING A FALL That is just insane, y’all.
Mizzou Gymnastics made a statement in their season-opening win on Sunday against Iowa State.
Standing at 6’1”, Goodie was known for his top-of-the-line speed, regularly catching vertical passes over the top from now-Red Raider QB Brendan Sorsby. Goodie caught 29 passes on the season for 484 yards and two touchdowns and will have two years of eligibility remaining.
The staff might be making multiple years of eligibility a priority.

Plus, players re-signing and returning.
