Per Steve Kerr, Jonathan Kuminga won’t be playing tonight in the Golden State Warriors’ final preseason game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Kuminga tweaked his right ankle on the non-call sequence that
got him an ejection against the Portland Trail Blazers.
This is a literal injury added to the insult of not being given the benefit of the doubt by the officials in the sequence above, in addition to being fined $35,000 by the league for “making inappropriate contact with and continuing to pursue a game official.”
With Kuminga out — as well as Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody — Kerr is starting a lineup of Steph Curry, Brandin Podziemsky, Will Richard, Draymond Green, and Al Horford tonight against the Clippers. It will be an imperfect dress rehearsal considering the absences, but the priority right now is making sure almost everyone will be ready in time for their season-opening tilt against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, October 21.
