Yesterday, Harrison Bader teamed with Brandon Marsh to basically win the game for the Phillies. Their combined seven hits was creating damage to a Milwaukee pitching staff that has been among the better ones in the game this year and it gave the Phillies a sizeable lift for the game.
It’s been a good few games for Bader. Since starting off with his new team a bit on the slow side, he’s come on hot lately. From August 1-19, Bader hit .171/.271/.268 with the Phillies while not getting the regular time
he was getting in Minnesota. Since the sun came up on August 20th, he’s been hitting close to .500 and earning a bit more trust from Rob Thomson.
It’s starting to beg the question a bit: is bringing back Bader something the Phillies should be prioritizing for 2026 and beyond? He gives the team some of the better outfield defense they’ve had in some time while also being able to actually impact a baseball, something Johan Rojas just was not able to do. It can change this lineup. So why not make sure they are having him around for next season?
