Barcelona had been full of goals before the international break came along and rudely interrupted the Catalans’ perfect start to the 2026-27 campaign.
The three week hiatus on domestic football has seen the majority of Hansi Flick’s side leave Catalunya and head across the globe to play for their national teams, but the goals have still continued to flow for many Barca players.
Lamine Yamal has certainly captured the headlines with his performances for Spain. The teenager scored an early goal against
England and then followed that up with two goals and assist against Croatia.
Pedri has also been productive for Spain despite starting both games on the bench and only playing 53 minutes of football so far. The midfielder has still bagged an assist and Barca won’t be too sad to see him getting plenty of rest over the international break.
Spain are in the same Nations League group as England who have seen Anthony Gordon shine for the Three Lions. The forward is still waiting for his first Barcelona goal but has found the back of the net twice for England in two games to earn praise from Harry Kaneand Thomas Tuchel.
Barca have also seen Raphinha score a penalty against Australia, Hamza Abdelkarim net his first Egypt goal against South Sudan and Joao Cancelo find the back of the net with a cheeky dink against Denmark.
Summer signing Karim Adeyemi could also celebrate his return to the Germany set-up with an assist against Netherlands, while manager Jurgen Klopp playing down missed chances and backed the Barca attacker after the game. “He’s a wonderful guy and a very pleasant person. I really like the whole package he offers,” he said afterwards.
There is still another round of fixtures for most international teams to fulfil before players return home, giving Barca’s players another chance to keep on showing the world what they can do.
Most importantly of all though, Flick will be keeping his fingers crossed that all of his players return fit, healthy and raring to go next week ahead of some key fixtures in October at home and abroad.
