The Miami Dolphins head into Week 4 of the 2026 NFL season looking to claim their first win. Miami is undergoing a massive rebuild this year, with changes made from the team president down through the front office, the coaching staff, and all across the roster, so the losses are not unexpected.
The lack of pass rush success is, however. Edge rusher Chop Robinson, in his third season, should be hitting his prime just as the team looks to him as its primary pass rusher, disrupting opposing quarterbacks
and taking pressure off the rest of the defense, particularly the young players at cornerback. Through three games, Miami has totaled zero sacks – the only team in the league that has not taken down a quarterback.
David Furones from the South Florida Sun Sentinel looked at the pressure the defense is feeling to create pressure and finish with a sack:
While the sack total remains at zero, there was at least a spark from the Dolphins pass rush with increased pressure applied to quarterback Patrick Mahomes last Sunday compared with the first two losses against the Las Vegas Raiders and San Francisco 49ers. Mahomes was hit five times, not counting the questionable roughing-the-passer penalty assessed to Robinson.
“I thought that last week we took a step forward as far as getting pressure,” said linebacker Jordyn Brooks. “Whether that was knocking quarterback off his timing, getting him out of the pocket, getting hits on him, just being disruptive.”
