Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Roman Wilson suffered a finger injury in the team’s Week 5 win over the Indianapolis Colts. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, he’ll miss multiple games because of it.
“Steelers WR Roman Wilson is expected to miss a couple of weeks due to a finger injury suffered Sunday, per source,” Fowler reports. “He’s still gathering info and seeking a second opinion.”
Wilson injured his finger on his lone target of the day on Sunday. The ball hit him in the hand while being contested
by a defender and fell to the turf. Wilson grabbed his hand and left the game.
The Steelers also lost Ben Skowronek during the win with a leg injury. If he is unable to go this week, that would leave Pittsburgh without three of their receivers, as Michael Pittman was placed on IR with a foot injury.
It’s almost guaranteed the Steelers will hit the market to bring in at least one other body at receiver ahead of their Week 6 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to the growing list of injuries at the position. At the time of writing, their only healthy receivers are DK Metcalf, Germie Bernard, Kaden Wetjen, and Brandon Smith, who was elevated from the practice squad.
