There’s still time to turn it around, but the women’s season is not going well. Duke had previously lost to #16 Baylor, West Virginia, South Florida, #2 South Carolina, #3 UCLA and now LSU in the ACC/SEC
Challenge.
Duke fell to the Tigers, 93-77.
The Blue Devils started with a bang, running out to a 14-1 lead but LSU got right back into it with an 11-0 run before building a 51-43 halftime lead.
LSU won the last three quarters and outscored Duke in the second half, 42-34.
Duke did scored 23 off of 18 turnovers and shot fairly well, hitting8-24 on threes (33%) and 29-58 (50%) overall. However, LSU hit 5-11(45%) on threes and (37-62) 60% and also out rebounded Duke 34-25.
With the loss, Duke falls to 3-5 on the season, but coach Kara Lawson is still optimistic, saying this: “It’s good to see the growth that’s happening. It’s been a challenging schedule. It’s been great for us to expose where we need to get to. And we’re getting better, we were a lot better tonight than we were last week.”
Duke gets a chance to show that when the Blue Devils take on Virginia Tech in Blacksburg on Sunday.
