Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (31-44/31-15)
INDIANAPOLIS 6, SYRACUSE 5 (BOX)
After an exceptional month of July, Brandon Sproat returned to his old ways in August, allowing eight earned runs in 9.1 innings over two starts on the 7th and the 14th. The right-hander got back on track with a strong six innings, allowing one earned run on two hits and a walk while striking out eight. The bullpen unfortunately blew up- lemme know if you’ve heard that one before- with Chris Devenski giving up three in the top of the ninth- though, to his credit, all three were
unearned due to a Luis De Los Santos fielding error- wasting a heroic Joey Meneses homer in the eighth that gave Syracuse the lead.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (45-22*/30-16)
PORTLAND 8, BINGHAMTON 3 (BOX)
The Rumble Ponies started the game with a two run first courtesy of a Nick Morabito homer, but the Sea Dogs took the lead back almost instantly, plating three in the bottom of the frame. Luis Moreno and Felipe de la Cruz combined to allow four more runs in the third, and that basically put the game out of reach and to bed early.

High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (46-20*/21-28)
BROOKLYN 5, ABERDEEN 4 (BOX)
Brooklyn started out their series against the IronBirds with a win, giving old friend Wellington Aracena his first loss as a member of the Baltimore Orioles organization. The Cyclones plated two runs in the first, two more in the second, and one in the third before Aberdeen finally got on the board. The IronBirds fought and fought and fought, but the six Brooklyn pitchers who suited up in this one were able to stem the tide just enough. With the win, their third in a row, Brooklyn climbed out of the basement, flip-flopping with the now-last place Wilmington Blue Rocks.

Single-A: St. Lucie Mets (34-31*/34-15)
ST. LUCIE 8, PALM BEACH 5 (BOX)
With the score tied 1-1, the St. Lucie Mets bats erupted in the fifth for a seven-run inning. Eleven batters came to the plate, with Antonio Jimenez and Chase Meggers both plating three runs apiece on two separate bases-clearing double and John Bay driving in an additional run. With a bunch of wiggle room to work with, the St. Lucie bullpen was a little sloppy, but it really didn’t matter all that much.
