Welcome back to College Football Saturday!
While your Miami Hurricanes have a night game tonight against Bethune Cookman (7pm, ACCNX), there are PLENTY of other games to enjoy today in the lead up to the Canes.
While you watch games from coast to coast today, hop in the comments and talk about the action as it happens. And, in case you needed to know who to root for in games with ACC teams, we’ve got you covered on that front:
I’ll post a couple highlight games in this window, but here’s a watchgrid
graphic from TrigDraws, a contributor with another network.

Anyways, a couple games to keep an eye on in the early window, with lines provided by our friends at FanDuel Sportsbook:
- Iowa at #16 Iowa State, Noon, Fox; line: Iowa State -3.5 — the CyHawk trophy is up for grabs in this intrastate rivalry. This rivalry has historically been dominated by Iowa, but in recent years it’s been pretty even. In the last 26 meetings, the ledger is Iowa 14 wins, Iowa State 12 wins. Iowa State won last year, and is on a minor run with 2 of the last 3. This should be a tough, hard fought game to start your viewing day.
- Baylor at #17 SMU, Noon, The CW; line: SMU -2.5 — SMU has designs on returning to the ACC Championship Game and College Football Playoffs. They face a tough test in this matchup of Texas teams with something to prove here in Week 2.
- #11 Illinois at Duke, Noon, ESPN; line: Illinois -3 — Another chance for teams to make a splash here early in the season. Manny Diaz’s Duke has a chance at a statement win, while Bert Bielema’s Illinois is going to play tough, physical football and look to move into the top 10 next week if things break their way.
- South Florida at #13 Florida, 4:15pm, SEC Network; line: Florida -17.5 — This is a game you’re gonna want to pay attention to. These are Miami’s next 2 opponents following this week’s game against Bethune.
There are more games, obviously, but those are the ones that stick out to me in the early window.
For our purposes, Miami-Bethune is the headliner of the week, but other games like Michigan @ Oklahoma, and Arizona State @ Mississippi State are in the late window as well.
Let’s talk some football until we’re back for Miami-Bethune later this evening.
