It’s been a few weeks since last we checked in on the Penn State running back dynamic duo and their quest to get to the top of the career leaderboards. Let’s see where we’re at!
After a couple of meh games
against Ohio State and Indiana (understandably so), Kaytron Allen erupted against Michigan State.
On the day, Allen had 25 carries for 181 yards and 2 touchdowns, a dominating performance needed when the passing game was sputtering at best. Kaytron now stands 3,794 yards, just 49 yards behind Saquon Barkley and 138 yards behind Evan Royster. 50 yards moves him into second place all time, and 139 yards gets him to the top of the list.
With 2 guaranteed games left on the schedule, Allen will need to average 69.5 yards per game against Nebraska and Rutgers. Can he do it?
Nicholas Singleton, meanwhile, is at 41 career rushing touchdowns, 2 TDs behind Saquon Barkley. If Singleton gets one TD in each of the next two games, he’ll tie Barkley atop the leaderboard. If he’s somehow able to pop off a multi-touchdown game in either weekend, he could take the top spot.
Of course, winning the next two games and getting to a bowl would just make all of the above just a little bit easier.
What say you? Can they do it?
