Per Steve Kerr prior to the Golden State Warriors’ third preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers, Moses Moody will miss the rest of the preseason due to a left calf issue.
The Warriors are making
sure Moody will be healthy and ready for the beginning of the regular season. Kerr added that they are “not too concerned” about the injury.
The hope for Moody is that this injury won’t derail him from what is hoping to be a break-out season. Moody has shown improved three-point versatility — both as a stationary spot-up shooter and as movement shooter coming off a variety of screens. He has also been earmarked as the primary perimeter defender against opposing primary perimeter options.
The Warriors are already quite shorthanded against the Lakers tonight. Besides Moody, Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Al Horford will sit out. Kerr is planning to start a lineup consisting of Brandin Podziemski, Buddy Hield, Jonathan Kuminga, Draymond Green, and Quinten Post.
