Maryland junior Rose Coats ran the best 6K championship time in program history and finishing 111th overall.
Coats ran a time of 20 minutes and 0.2 seconds Saturday at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Missouri.
Her record time was 18 seconds faster than her performance last year as a sophomore. Coats’ finish of 111 was out of 261 total runners.
Coats is just the sixth runner in Maryland history to qualify for the NCAA Championships and the first individual runner to qualify in back-to-back years. The last time the Terps had an athlete represented at the championships in consecutive years was in 2017-18.
