Have you ever wanted to write about the Lakers? Are you a fan of this wonderful website and the community we’ve created together? If the answers to those questions are yes — and more specifically, the first one — then we have a great opportunity for you!
Silver Screen & Roll is looking for new staff members, from those who want to help write about the latest Lakers news and rumors, to those interested in doing gameday coverage of the team itself. Pay rates vary based on responsibilities and experience
level.
Qualifications include, but aren’t limited to:
- Previous writing experience, whether that was at another website, newsletters on Substack or elsewhere, at a traditional news publication or somewhere else. That experience can range from writing news stories to covering events live, but you should have some past experience.
- A passion for basketball with bonus points if it’s for the Lakers. A knowledge of the league overall, the Lakers and their history is important.
- An ability to work under deadlines and in high-pressure situations. Think back to those insane 30 minutes of free agency when the Lakers handed out contracts like candy.
- An ability to accept feedback and edits, make adjustments prior to publishing and apply those changes moving forward.
