After three days in the transfer portal, Louisville running back Isaac Brown has opted to remain a Cardinal.
Despite being pursued by some of the highest-profile programs in college football, Brown will
return for a third season at U of L, where sources tell Card Chronicle he’ll play for less money than he could have made suiting up for at least a couple of other programs.
That is cool.
As a true freshman in 2024, Brown was named both the ACC Rookie of the Year and ACC Offensive Rookie of the Year after becoming the first freshman in school history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. He finished the Freshman All-American campaign a total of 1,173 yards and 11 touchdowns, despite not becoming a full-time starter until the season’s second month.
Injuries hampered Brown’s sophomore season, but he still earned Third Team All-ACC honors after rushing for 782 yards and five touchdowns. His average of 8.8 yards per carry was the highest in the conference.
I will say this again — and I don’t say it lightly — Isaac Brown is the most naturally gifted running back I’ve ever seen suit up at the University of Louisville. I’m very happy that I haven’t seen him suit up for the Cards for the last time.
