The New York Giants will be back at Quest Diagnostics Training Center in East Rutherford, N.J. on Monday holding their first 10 training camp practices in West Virginia. Fans will not be allowed to attend the 1:30 p.m. practice.
Big Blue View will not be in attendance. We will, though, have all of the news, highlights, and analysis as quickly as we can.
Head coach John Harbaugh said Saturday that he was happy with the time spent in West Virginia.
“I think we got a lot better. That’s probably what we got out
of it. We improved tremendously. We’re much further along than we were when we started,” Harbaugh said. “I think we can look back and say that we’ve come a long way.
“I mean, the competition is really tough in this league, and every team is doing the same thing. So, you’re in a race every single day to be at least the best you can be. And everybody’s trying to do the same thing in the NFL, so that’s why it’s so tough, but I thought our guys did a good job. I’m happy with where we’re at. It’s just a matter of keeping your head down and staying after it every day. Never taking a breath in terms of your mindset and determination to get better.”
Injury news
There are a few notworthy injuries to monitor:
- Cornerback Dru Phillips has missed a couple of practices with what has been called a “mild” knee sprain. Will he be back?
- Edge defender Brian Burns has been limited by an ankle injury.
- Center John Michael Schmitz missed Saturday’s practice after being hit in the head on Friday. Coach John Harbaugh was not sure on Saturday if Schmitz had been placed in the concussion protocol. We should learn more on Monday.
- Can Skattebo’s reps were limited the past couple of practices. How much will he work on Monday?
Interesting development at cornerback
Paulson Adebo is generally considered the Giants’ No. 1 cornerback. Adebo, though, has done some work during recent practices with the second team. Adebo did not have a great 2025 season, and with a new coaching staff it is a trend worth monitoring.
Adebo said recently that he knows last season was “not good enough.”
Are Harbaugh and defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson telling him what they have seen this summer isn’t good enough?
